Before the Easter break I delivered a careers talk about Postgraduate Study and Funding for international students. A number of students expressed frustration about the lack of funding specific to non UK/EU graduates. As such I thought the information below may provide ideas for you to explore.
Contact your own Ministry of Education or Education Department, as they should have details of scholarship opportunities for students wishing to study overseas. You may also want to contact your nearest British Council office, which should have details of British scholarship schemes. If there is no British Council office, then contact your nearest British Embassy or High Commission.
The institution you wish to apply to is more than likely to have its own web pages about international student scholarships, information about funding at UCL is available on the Scholarships & Funding section of the UCL website.
In addition, it is also possible to find further information from the following websites about international student funding:
Education UK – a useful website for international students set up by the British Council.
UK Scholarships – a useful source of scholarships you may be eligible for.
Directory of UK Scholarships – developed by the British Council
Overseas Research Scholarship Scheme – details of grants to allow international students to undertake research degrees.
Association of Commonwealth Universities – funding opportunities for postgraduates resident in The Commonwealth.
